The story behind “Craig’s Elk”.  

Craig commissioned me to do a watercolor painting for him, putting together 2 photos that he took in his back yard. The First photograph was of 4 male elk running together in the Summer time.  The second photo was of the aspen trees in his yard in their Colorado Fall time beauty.  “What colors should I use for the background & foreground?” I asked.  “Use ANY colors that you would like” he said.  “You’re the expert artist!”  WOW!  Any colors I wanted!  “Okay! I’ll really use my artistic license to create this one”, I thought.  As I painted, I allowed the colors to just form, and blend as they wanted to.  The painting all came together wonderfully.  Craig really was SO filled with JOY & gratitude and happiness when he saw the finished painting and he loved the fact that I named it "Craig's Elk"  A true co-creation between Craig, me, and Spirit!!  Let this be a tribute to Craig and his LOVE of nature, creativity & his vision.  Note: young male elk really only run together in the Summer.
